PUBLIC PARK: Volunteers will revitalize and beautify this community resource for all its members.

PLAYGROUND RECONSTRUCTION:  Due to terrential flooding it has been difficult for this neighboor to utilize this resource. Volunteers will build up protection from future floods.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES:  The visiting volunteer team will spend a total of 7 days in Colombia, to include arrival & departure days.  While every service day will be extremely engaging and fun, the volunteers will also have the opportunity to experience Colombian Coffee Culture by engaging with the community in normal recreational activities that locals enjoy.

BARRIO HORIZONTES (Shanty Neighborhood), Chinchina, Caldas, Colombia
Google Earth View in 2012:   You see all the Open Areas? Now, in 2017, it's filled with houses now creating a shanty neighborhood that the people made themselves with materials they find and can afford. See picture album above showing the current community. The neighborhood has been burnt down before due to fire hazards and poor urban planning. Today, the City of Chinchina is involved with fixing this problem by offering new housing to some fortunate needy families in a different location on safer ground. Our volunteer team will be part of improving the quality of life of those families that are still waiting to participate in that urban planning & development effort.  Some of these families will be waiting for a very, very long time!

Travel with a purpose! Colombia's Coffee Region is one of the most beautiful places on Earth; and Colombia is the 2nd most bio-diverse country in the world, next to Brazil. I love Colombia,
